JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a full time Accountant. This will be a long-term position if you're the right person and we want it to be.

This position will support a manufacturing company operating in five states in the United States.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare appropriate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on time.
• File state and local sales and use tax returns on time and make all appropriate tax deposits on time.
• Send out monthly statements to any customers with outstanding balances.
• Collect and maintain FET and Sales Exemption forms from appropriate customers.
• Cost Accounting: calculate monthly material cost.
• Calculate commission payments for salespeople and report to VP of Finance
• Assist the Procurement Manager with purchasing as asked.
• Accurately record all transactions in the company’s books of record
• Participate in team atmosphere.
• Provide accurate and timely financial information to management, stakeholders, and external auditors.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
• Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, advising management on potential impacts.
• Oversee the work of bookkeepers, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Continuously assess accounting processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
• Streamline workflows and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Monday-Friday Flex Hours (would need at least 50% overlap to US Eastern Time Zone)


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; (CPA is a plus)
• Certificate in US Accountancy preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
• Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Proficiency in accounting/ERP software (Currently Dynamics Great Plains but we are transitioning to Microsoft Business Central)
• Proficiency in Office 365
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
