About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Beverage Formulation Consultant to join our team. As a Beverage Formulation Consultant, you will be responsible for creating new and exciting beverage formulations that align with our brand's vision and objectives. You will leverage your expertise in ingredient selection, flavor profiling, and formulation techniques to develop unique and marketable beverage products. Additionally, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to guide the development process, ensuring that our beverages meet the highest standards of quality and taste.

This is an hourly-based remote position.

Responsibilities:

Formulation Development: Lead the formulation development process from concept ideation to final product creation. Utilize your knowledge of ingredients, flavor combinations, and formulation techniques to develop innovative beverage recipes.
Ingredient Sourcing: Research and identify high-quality ingredients that align with our brand's ethos and target market preferences. Collaborate with suppliers to source ingredients that meet our standards for sustainability, quality, and taste.
Flavor Profiling: Conduct sensory evaluations and taste tests to fine-tune flavor profiles and ensure optimal taste, aroma, and mouthfeel. Adjust formulations as needed to achieve the desired flavor balance and intensity.
Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain consistency and integrity across all beverage formulations. Monitor production processes and conduct regular quality checks to identify and address any deviations from standards.
Market Analysis: Stay informed about emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape in the beverage industry. Use market insights to inform formulation decisions and identify opportunities for innovation.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, R&D, and production, to bring beverage concepts to fruition. Communicate effectively to align project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of formulation recipes, ingredient specifications, and production processes. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations to key stakeholders.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in beverage formulation, preferably in a consulting or product development capacity.
Strong understanding of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and flavor science.
Excellent sensory evaluation skills and ability to discern subtle flavor nuances.
Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and experimentation.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and excellence.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
