Web Developer (WordPress/PHP)

This project-based remote employment aims at 20 or more hours a week.

About Us: The Vishrant Buddhist Society is a non-profit organization under the guidance of the enlightened Master Vishrant dedicated to promoting peace, mindfulness, and liberation through teachings and practices inspired by Buddhist philosophy. As part of our mission to reach a broader audience and create meaningful connections, we are seeking a skilled Web Developer to extend and improve our website in a one-time project.

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Web Developer with expertise in WordPress and PHP to enhance and extend the functionality of our website. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web development and a passion for contributing to meaningful projects. The main focus of the project will be the implementation of login and membership functionality and changes to an existing event registration process.


Responsibilities:

Extend and improve the functionality of our WordPress website.

Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.

Implement design changes and enhancements to improve user experience.

Optimize website performance and ensure compatibility across various devices and browsers.

Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise and guidance.


Requirements:

Proven experience as a Web Developer, with a focus on WordPress and PHP development.

Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs and other relevant web technologies.

Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.

Familiarity with responsive web design principles and best practices.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote team environment.
