Art Director / Senior Graphic Designer

The Art Director / Senior Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role in driving the visual direction of the Smith Co. Distributing’s family of brands. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced designer who’s looking to take their creative career to the next level.

You will be the creative lead on fast paced large-scale brand initiatives across a diverse product line including but not limited to knives, cannabis, technology, sunglasses, flags, koozies, coffee, socks, shirts, hats, stickers and more. This position will work deep in the details of producing creative deliverables (product art, packaging, catalogs, marketing materials, etc...) while also overseeing junior design staff and cross-departmental oversight of brand applications. This is a full time, remote, and salaried position, with an earning potential of 22.5k annual depending on experience. This position reports to the Chief Creative Officer.

Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize and develop graphic solutions from concept to delivery to support product development, marketing and brand needs
• Develops and maintains graphic guidelines..
• Creates custom logos, graphics, layouts and other design solutions optimized for digital and print channels.
• Provides written, verbal, and visual input for Development, Retail, and Brand teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Provide critique and mentorship to help develop junior staff
• Responsible for creating custom logos, graphics, and layouts
• Verbally present graphic concepts in small team settings
• Ensure proper delivery of works to all departments
• Catalog management.
• Review production files to ensure accuracy.
• Lead the creative development of marketing campaigns, ensuring that visual elements effectively communicate the desired message to the target audience.
• Implement and enforce quality control processes to maintain high standards in visual design, ensuring consistency and excellence across all projects.

Skills and Qualifications:
• 4+ years of professional design experience required
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise of branding, typography, layout, and illustration skills across digital and print.
• Expert knowledge of digital and print design requirements.
• Ability to perform at a high level while juggling multiple projects
• Ability to lead junior Design staff.
• Excellent verbal and written understanding of the English Language.
• Excellent understanding of US Pop Culture.
• Must be highly Self Driven / Motivated.
• Strong understanding of American pop culture, trends, etc...
• Photography, video, animation, copywriting, 3d rendering and other multi-media experience is a nice bonus.
