Medical Billing Specialist

Fulll-time Medical Billing role with a toxicology lab based out of New Jersey, USA

Prior medical billing experience with US insurance providers required***

Ideally has worked with public and private insurance providers in the US.
General understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and large private insurers in the US.

Reviews/downloads insurance Explanation of Benefits and posts payments to billing system.
Posts payments and ensures allowances, adjustments and write-offs are posted correctly.
Reconcile electronic remittances (ERA) and EFT payments.
Performs tasks required to ensure the timely and accurate follow up of all assigned claims and documents billing.
Addresses any discrepancies in charges, payments, adjustments and demographic information.
Submit electronic and paper insurance claims within 24 hours of receiving the requisitions.
Ensuring the patient’s medical information is accurate and up to date.
Collecting and reviewing referrals and pre-authorizations.
Investigating and appealing denied claims.
