To be considered for this position, you need 2+ years of experience working for an Australian Public Accounting firm, with Xero software knowledge.

Job Summary:

As the Junior Accountant, you will be taught how to prepare accounting administration tasks, managing bookkeeping, BAS, and financial statements. Your tasks will also include:

• Processing service invoices, emailing them to clients, and handling ASIC administration, including checking ASIC annual reviews and preparing ASIC forms.
• Assisting with incorporation and setting up companies, trusts, and self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs), understanding group structures, and preparing structure diagrams.
• Processing stamp duty with the Office of State Revenue (OSR).
• Applying for Australian Business Numbers (ABNs), Tax File Numbers (TFNs), and Goods and Services Tax (GST) registrations.
• Conducting bank reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and managing bookkeeping tasks.
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including monthly reconciliations for debtor and creditor accounts, and processing up to the trial balance stage, preparing financial statements for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
• Preparing monthly or quarterly management accounts and reports, as well as BAS (Business Activity Statement) lodgements.
• Preparing superannuation, salary, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports.
• Assisting with the preparation of tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
