Senior Power BI Developer (Job ID: SPBI24)

We are looking for a new Senior Power BI Developer to join us in developing leading edge software for large enterprise companies. PetroBeacon requires a dedicated full-time resource who is comfortable working remotely with an international team based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are currently seeking a versatile, Senior Power BI Developer that possesses a passion to craft valuable applications and impactful experiences. Candidates should be self-motivated, initiative-taking and demonstrate a genuine interest and affluence in modern software development tools and practices. The role will be primarily responsible for maintaining and extending an existing system built by PetroBeacon, secondarily working, and collaborating with the team on new projects and products built using modern web technologies.

Technical/Functional Skills Required:
• Relevant Experience: 5+ years
• Working experience in MS Power BI Reporting Solutions & MS Technology such as MS Excel.
• Good understanding and direct (hands-on) experience on different RDBMS (MS SQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Snowflake is a big asset
• Ability to create data models in MS Power BI Platform, Data architecture experience is an asset
• Proven recent direct (hands-on) experience building complex Power BI reports using various data sources
• Proven recent extensive technical knowledge of MS Power BI Technology
• Proficiency in creation of reporting solution and design, documentation emphasizing reporting requirements traceability in relation to business and technical requirements
• Configuring & Deploying Reporting solution on Desktop, Mobile Device and As Services
• Knowledge in other Reporting Technologies such as Tibco Spotfire, Tableau etc. is helpful

• Self-starter or initiative-taking, self-motivated to deliver high quality products professionally
• Capable of working with a production system with active users
• Capable of developing software in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Capable of effectively working with a team of, but not limited to: software developers, business analysts, architects, clients -- remotely and across geographical locations, and adjust work times when necessary
• Capable of self-managing their own workload to meet deadlines and commitments, upholding personal integrity with commitments
• Capable of handling sensitive information in a responsible manner
• Capable of providing timely and accurate status reporting, time tracking, and similar
• English: Fluent speaking and writing
