Who we’re looking for:
We need a new Finance Specialist, who will work closely with the company Founder and finance teaUpgrade to see actual infombers and take ownership of assigned finance, accounting, bookkeeping, financial analysis, and reporting activities. They will assist with creating, maintaining, and optimizing systems and procedures and will impact decision-making, forecasting, and budgeting at the company level, based on analysis of accounting data and trends.
This position will include a wide range of tasks, encompassing not only purely finance responsibilities but also actively creating and implementing processes, managing projects and teaUpgrade to see actual infombers, and handling confidential and sensitive administrative tasks due to the access level. Additionally, the Financial Controller will be expected to contribute to one-off projects initiated by the founder, further enhancing their role in driving organizational success.

As a Finance Specialist, you will:
Complete and coordinate the completion of a wide range of projects and tasks (financial, procedural, and sensitive administrative tasks);
Prepare financial statements and reports, summaries, and forecasts, conduct audits, analyze financial results, and anticipate future needs and trends;
Oversee bookkeeping and maintain historical records;
Supervise cash management and budgeting, ensuring expenses are forecasted and controlled;
Develop and implement the organization's financial strategy, including risk management and forecasting;
Use data, reports, and dashboards to measure company results and make informed decisions to ensure sufficient cash flow, reducing operating costs, and boosting business profits;
Conduct tax reviews and provide support to a tax accountant in preparing and filing tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, non-profit organizations, and payroll taxes.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders (eg tax accountant, legal counsel, partners, and vendors);
Safeguard company operations by documenting and protecting financial information and plans for accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance;
Complete other various finance projects as needed.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:
You have at least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance (required).
You possess a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license or similar designation with 5+ years of related financial experience (required).
Driver of impactful results: You have a proven experience "owning" the general ledger as part of your role, experience in financial planning and analysis, and knowledge of regulatory compliance.
Data-driven decision maker: You're an expert in QuickBooks Desktop or similar bookkeeping software tools; are familiar with Google Analytics, Metorik, and other Analytics tools used for revenue forecast planning.
Adaptable to changing priorities and requirements: You're proactive and resourceful, able to navigate complex challenges and find solutions in uncertain environments.
Preferred experience: You have real estate handling and bookkeeping experience, non-profit organization experience, and contract management experience.
Tech enthusiast: You're passionate about AI and emerging technologies, and eager to explore and integrate them into your work.
Communication champion: You can clearly explain complex data even to people who aren't experts.
Remote ready: You thrive in a remote environment and enjoy the flexibility and independence it offers.

It is a fully remote contract position, with Independent Contractors responsible for their taxes and benefits.
