Full Stack Developer - PHP/Laravel

Development Language & Frameworks Requirements:
- Laravel / PHP
- ReactJS
- SQL (MySQL)

Optional but preferred:
- jQuery

Job Overview:

Your role will consist of working relatively independently on software development projects, working on tasks in an AGILE methodology. You will work on various projects, both for our clients, as well as our own internal projects.

This is a full time role. You must be able to commit to 40 hours per week. We do not permit working in other roles, or for other companies while working for us - this is NOT a contract or freelance position.

About NXTWORK (recently rebranded to Code Squirrel):

NXTWORK is a software development company based in Australia. We build cloud, web, mobile, desktop and server applications for our clients. We also have a number of in-house applications that we provide as cloud-based services. Our team is split across Australia and the Philippines.
You will report to David, our software architect. He is based in Australia, and works with our customers to put together design documentation based on their requirements.



Responsibilities and Duties:
• Writing both back-end and front-end code to match specifications provided
• Working to, and updating your assigned tasks in our project management app (Jira)
• Committing your code frequently, including a bullet point lists of changes in each commit
• Participating in daily ScruUpgrade to see actual infoetings via Slack
• Be responsive to questions and feedback via Slack
• Be prompt and attentive – checking in at your start time each day


Skills Required:
• Clear, frequent and detailed communication – you must be comfortable and confident communicating updates, and provide details in your summaries and comments
• Be up-front, and don’t be afraid to ask questions – if you don’t know something, just ask
• Ability to work quickly, to a time limit – our projects are all based on set milestones, with certain parts of the application being due by a set time

Working Hours
• The role will be full time
• Hours will be 9AM to 5PM local time
• We are flexible with this – so long as you are working 8 hours per day, we are happy to negotiate a start and finish time

Confidentiality
You will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement at the beginning of this role. This agreement is to protect our clients’ confidential information, which you may have access to as part of your role.
