ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your KEY RESPONSIBILITIES will include:
1. Bookkeeping: Handling day-to-day financial tasks, such as reconciling bank statements and organizing financial documents.
2. Preparing Financial Statements: Preparing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to provide a comprehensive view of a company's financial status.
3. Tax Preparation: Contributing to preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses, staying current on tax laws.

Roles may vary based on specialisation (tax, audit, advisory) and seniority within the firm. Senior accountants or managers need training and supervisory experience.

To be successful in this role, ideally, you should have:

1. At least 1 year of working experience in an Australian accounting firm (either present or remote). If you have UK, NZ, US, or Canada experience, please apply.
2. Understanding accounting and bookkeeping, with the ability to perform month-end reporting, journal entries, AP and AR tasks, and familiarity with Australian tax requirements.
3. Experience with MYOB and Xero Accounting Systems (or a willingness to learn).
4. Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
5. Access to reliable and high-speed internet.
6. Reliable hardware, which means you must have your laptop/computer and at least one monitor.
7. Availability during Australian Standard working hours (full time, 9-5 at least). Flexibility for occasional urgent ad-hoc tasks is required.
