Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in California family law, with exceptional drafting skills and experience handling a wide range of family law matters including divorce, child custody, support modifications, and domestic violence cases. The role requires a proactive approach to managing case files, drafting legal documents, and assisting attorneys with preparing for court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and prepare legal documents, including petitions, summonses, motions, stipulations, and orders, with a strong emphasis on quality and accuracy.
Manage and organize case files, ensuring all relevant information is accessible and up-to-date.
Conduct legal research and analysis to assist attorneys in case preparation.
Prepare and file all court documents efficiently, understanding the Electronic Filing (eFiling) system used in California courts.
Liaise with clients, providing them with updates on their cases and gathering necessary information and documentation.
Coordinate with court personnel and opposing counsel as required.
Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and other court appearances, including the preparation of exhibits and other necessary materials.
Maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of California family law and procedural requirements to ensure compliance in all legal documents and filings.
Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing attorney calendars.
