Lighting Designer

Job Duties



· Deliver competitive and creative Lighting Designs, for small and large-scale construction, commercial, and industrial projects.

· Generate Lighting Calculations, compliance documentation and detailed CAD drawings for Indoor and Outdoor Lighting Systems in accordance with relevant Australian Standards.

· Create detailed models and lighting calculations in Dialux.

· Understanding of a wide range of control protocols including DALI and DMX

· Perform Symbol Counts using Bluebeam.

· Attend daily technical meetings.

· Monitor estimated energy use in accordance with Australian National Building Codes

· Greenstar design experience with Greenstar highly regarded.

· Daily communication of project updates.

· Complete all relevant information relating to tender submissions.

· Collaboratively work alongside the project team to ensure assignments are completed smoothly and on time.

· Effectively self-manage time and processes under limited supervision.

· Ensure a continual forward workload of tender enquiries and estimates.



Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

· 3-5 years experience in a similar design and electrical estimating position

· Experience with Microsoft Suites, AutoCAD and Bluebeam estimating software.

· Experience with Excel Power Query

· Advanced DIALUX skills

· Ability to understand and interpret architectural, electrical and technical documentation.

· Extensive lighting and electrical technical knowledge

· Ability to understand and interpret Electrical and Lighting Standards relevant to Australia/New Zealand

· Must have experience from tendering to project execution.

· Fluent in English, written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to read and understand instructions, tender drawings, and specifications.

· Excellent colour vision.

· Strong time management skills and track record of working to deadlines & budgets whilst working unsupervised.

· Methodical Approach with meticulous attention to detail to all work completed within a fast-paced and agile environment with tight deadlines.

· Honest, diligent team player with a strong work ethic and interpersonal skills
