Engineering Draftsperson

DESCRIPTION:
Working remotely, you will be joining our team of designers and engineers to perform a variety of product design and engineering tasks including:
1. Job Specification - all our new orders require someone with a technical mindset to be able to sucessfully process them, providing the Operations team with parts lists and packing lists
2. Technical Drafting - we need to improve and maintain our product 2D technical documentation including Installation drawings, Assembly drawings, Manufacturing drawings and Product Specification drawings
3. 3D Modelling in Solid Edge - with over 10,000 items in our inventory, we have a lot of 3D modelling requirements, both maintenance and also to undertake product improvements/redesigns and assisting Product Designers when required with new product designs.

ABOUT YOURSELF:
This role will require you to be diligent and hardworking. You will need to be self-motivated and you will also need to have a good technical understanding of how things go together. You will need to understand how important it is that dimensions on a drawing are clear and concise, that hardware and assembly information is 100?curate, that nothing is left to chance. You will need to be the sort of person that fusses over the small details - like making sure no 'typo' errors in the revision table, making sure your CAD sketches are all fully defined/constrained, making sure all items in 3D assemblies are properly related/constrained. You will need to self-check your work before submitting it as complete and you will need to be able to think through what the effect of your work will be on the end-user (such as the person that is reading your install drawings to put a playground together anywhere in Australia, or the fabricator that is welding up a critical component based on your drawings, and so on).
