Profile Description

I am Khatrina Bonagua, a 22-year-old AB Journalism graduate from University of the East Manila.
I believe that I am fit for the job for aside from the writing skills, I have the knack of engaging the people around me to think of life as an adventure and misadventure. I never lose an opportunity to try new things, take risks, and expand my horizons. Without spending so much money, I know how to have fun and make the most out of what I have. I can be a cowboy, a socialite, all depending on who I am with, where I am, or what the situation asks for, my friends could attest to all of these. I love exploring new places (especially restaurants which offer affordable yet yummy deals), and meeting new faces (I have this habit of walking alone then talking to strangers—from vendors, guards, jeepney drivers, etc ). I am inquisitive, I ask questions and find the answers; I am eccentric, I am charmed by the strange and go for change. I would like to meet with you, face-to-face, to further substantiate my claims.
I am not just any aspiring media practitioner out there; I am a writer, choir member, photographer, and all the other things in between stringing words and coloring life. For three years, I head the features department of the official student publication of UE, The Weekly Dawn where I went around the red and white walls of UE searching for inspiration, sometimes, outside the busy streets of Recto, too. I wrote anything under the sun, the moon, the roof. I made the "who-the-hell" "wow-he's-heaven-sent;" shared secrets that you would never forget; filled pages with my wordplay; and wrote just about anything that comes into my twisted mind. And yes, I killed articles with my red ball point pen. I also used to be the secretary of Comm.Org, the official organization of Broadcast Communication and Journalism Students of UE Manila where I wrote scripts for events, managed the wardrobe for productions, and marketed and advertised the affairs.
I also had my on-the-job training at Monday Magazine wherein I pulled clothes, shoes, and make-ups out with my high-heeled shoes and short dresses. I taped shoes during photo shoots, took pictures of clothes, researched on what’s hot and what’s not, and fell in love with the smell of the fabric and paper bags, I texted, interviewed, and got to rub elbows with the fashion slaves around. I also spent a summer being an intern for Jesuit Communications Foundation, Inc. where I transcribed, digitized, wrote scripts,
said "cut," I fell in love with Final Cut Pro X, thus, becoming your multi-tasker in the field of print and broadcast media.
Alongside these professional experiences, I also sing with the Living One Voice Ensemble and religiously write my daily ramblings in my blog.
I am proud to say that I can write something out of anything under the sun—from politics, current events, economics, anything hardcore, to food, fashion, places, people, and just about anything that tickles the mind. Due to all the writing classes I’ve been to, the contests I’ve won, the events I’ve handled under my affiliations, plus my experience as a features editor then for the DAWN, stringing and playing with words is definitely my forte.
With my experiences, personality, and my love for trying new things, I believe, I am very much the right candidate for the position. I don't just think outside the box, I live outside that box.
