I have been in the call center industry for three years. The experience helped me acquire excellent communication skills and building rapport with different types of customers. So far, I have handled three different accounts/clients: RCI (US-based Timesharing), Western Union (US-based Money Transfer), Telstra (Australia-based Telecommunications). Each of these accounts require their own respective skill sets ranging from hard selling to technical programming. I am now very confident to handle other accounts or jobs of similar nature as I know I can be very versatile in that aspect.
Just recently, I was hired as a Customer Care Officer for a local chemical distributor. I had to do internet research, look for key contact persons, and set appointments. The environment is different to the call center industry because of the required face-to-face communication with customers. This job also gave me the opportunity to apply the knowledge I gained as a Chemistry graduate. I had to test and study the chemical nature of the products, prepare technical presentations and seminars, and assist in various product development. During my employment, I was able to bring new accounts to the company and exceeded the monthly sales quota set by the management.
