I am currently working as a business transcriber for six months in a company here in our local area.
As a business transcriber myself, I acquire typing skills specifically having an average of 43 words per minute typing speed.
Also, having a listening skill is most important since I transfer audio file into text file, and that varies from different accounts containing files with one speaker to multiple speakers, and each speaker in an audio file can be of different accents.
More importantly, as a transcriber, I earned the skill of multitasking because of course, listening and typing simultaneously is basically what I do.
Some of the skills that are basic to me is keeping the files confidential that are allocated to me by not sharing with other people even with my family members, and then, being an internet savvy, like, using the internet as a resource for researching, are most of the things that I constantly do while transcribing in order to maintain the accuracy of the files that I type. And lastly, since a man is a social being, it is important that I communicate with my colleagues as part of my team building skills which is one of the most important skills to acquire in any working areas, which is in fact, not a problem to me at all.
