Provide job-entry level counselling skills in areas such as domestic violence, family dysfunction, substance abuse, gender issues, and behavioral problems.
Experience in culturally relevant recognized training that will assist in working in areas which may include health, education, private social services, government agencies, corrections and/or First Nations communities.
Experiences in basic counselling skills.
Understanding of the theory and practice of counselling in helping relationships.
Knowledge to function ethically, personally, professionally, and within agency codes and procedures.
Experienced and skilled in balancing empathy and objectivity in all situations
Highly committed to individual and community empowerment through the delivery of quality service
Current First Aid and CPR; WHIMIS and PHIA
Up-to-date Immunizations for health care requirements
Valid class 5 license; Bondable
Clear criminal record, clear child abuse registry, and vulnerable persons checks
