Last January 2012, in preparation for having an online job, I availed myself of an online VA (Virtual Assistant) Training Seminar.
Just like the other attendees, I was required to submit a working assignment with a deadline. The assignment required us to self-study the different practical and useful websites. And out of it, we were required to create step-by-step presentation tutorials and embed it on our respective VA blogs.
The assignment really trained me to do a lot of new things in the web, which I never bothered to try before. I planned and prioritized my tasks using Google Calendar. I used Dropbox to back up my valuable desktop files. I was able to create an online survey, on my own, through SurveyMonkey. I was able to acclimatize myself with Hootsuite and Ping.fm, websites which are useful in Social Media management. I got educated on using Sage Billing Boss, a free online invoicing tool. I got quite familiar with autoresponders by studying Listwire, a free autoresponder.
Although I'm not a project manager, I was able to experience "being one" by tinkering through Basecamp, a project management tool. Out of the few resources I barely have- a few pictures, music file, I was able to "produce" my first video clip using Animoto. Presently, I'm also capable of logging in to my different web accounts, without the hassle of typing multiple usernames and passwords by using Roboform. Through blogging, I was able to express myself and I discovered that somehow, I have above average writing skills.
However, the most important thing that I learned was not mentioned above. Here it is: PROFESSIONALISM. I learned to be HONEST and TRUE to myself especially in using my time. In the same way, I commit myself to be very HONEST in any way with my future client/s.
I'm also committed to constant and unending learning. It's my commitment to be the best person that I could be. In connection to this, I'm always open and willing to be trained.
At the end of the day, my overall goal is to make you happy and satisfied with my work. You wouldn't really know until you try. So try me now. I hope to be working with you soon.
