I am an editor. PS. I worked 13 years as book editor, so I fully understand the dynamics between editors, writers and publishers, and of course, I was there
through many a book's journey - from being a raw manuscript to becoming a bestseller.
I am a translator - I manage a team of ten freelancers who are native speakers of four major Filipino languages - Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon and Ilocano. We have an informal set up so freelancing does not prevent us from excelling in our chosen full time career.
I am a writer:
I write book reviews. I have a hunger for good books and excellent literature which makes me more than a random reader. With so much to read out there, I'd rather read those which are marked five stars and then interact with them by writing reviews.
I write movie insights. Although I choose what I watch, I generally enjoy watching a movie, and I will always be analyzing some beautiful aspects of a film after watching it. So I'm full of ideas about these things and what better way to share them but by writing.
I write devotionals. Since I am a Bible Christian since 1983, I also am a regular writer of devotionals. The best way for me to learn about God and His wonderful creations is by interacting with His Word through writing. I placed some of my devotionals and insights from the Bible at http://www.kausap.wordpress.com .
I self-study history. Since I've taught both Philippine History and Asian Civilization in some College back here at home, I truly got interested in these subjects and thus, I have become a student of Philippine History and of Asia. I haven't written anything about these, but I intend to.
I write poems. Poetry is my first love and I do poetry in my local language Tagalog. I have a blog of some of my poems http://www.registeragad.multiply.com
I write aspects concerning theater. My interest in theater arts grew out of my four years of active membership in our school theater group in college. I can say that theater experience in general is a great teacher of life. Exposure in theater gives you maturity, and helps you to become a well rounded person. So I make it a point to watch the plays shown in Manila theaters, and then of course, I write about them.
These are my interests and I have confidence that I can write on these topics.
I'm a web content writer. If you visit my commercial website (since I manage a translation team as well)
http://www.english-to-tagalog.com, you will see that I've also learned about what it takes to make web content work for a website. So I have a growing knowledge about SEO.
I hope to write more, if you let me.
