I have fallen in love with writing since the day I learned the Subject-Verb-Object structural rules.
I started writing short plays, monologue pieces and a few articles in high school, which I continued doing until college.
Right after finishing my Bachelor's degree in Philosophy I landed a teaching post in a Private owned college (now a university), where I taught Theology and Philosophy subjects.
I had the opportunity to further my skills in wriiten and spoken communications.
I got involved in some literary work during my stay in that college.
After a couple of years I decided to try my luck in a University, so as to further develop my teaching skills.
In those years that I was teaching I also accepted offers in writing monologue and declamation pieces (ofcourse, with professional fee) so as not to lose my touch in writing such pieces.
To upgrade my knowledge, both in teaching skills and the courses I taught, I took some masteral units in English and in Guidance and Counselling.
I also got a Diploma in Teaching so as to qualify me for a Licensure Examination for Teachers, which I passed.
Everything was working fine for my teaching career when one a day I got a call from Disney Cruise Line, Orlando, FLA (where I had a pending application) that I'm qualified to work as a Stateroom Host (Cabin Steward).
I spent four years with the cruise line and I can say that I had the best time of my life working in an industry so full of life and entertainment.
It was there that I developed more of my spoken communication.
I also spent some time writing a variety of formal and informal letters for a number of my co-employees who, sorry to say this, where somewhat illiterate.
This time I did it for free - pro bono.
The time came that I finally settled down and started a family of my own, I decided to give my life as a seafarer a rest.
I left the cruise line and stayed home.
A year after I got a call from a State University in our city that they need somebody to handle Philosophy subjects.
Unemployed for a year with a few earnings from my not so stable fish business, I took the offer and got back to the career I first fell in love with - teaching.
After a five-year stint in teaching with the State University, I finally decided to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer. So, I decided to enroll in a law reputble Law School in our city. I am an incoming fourth year student this school year. While in law school I'm also working as a Legal Content editor at Reed Elsevier Iloilo.
Thus, with my skills and knowledge, coupled with my enthusiasm in communicating (written and oral) are enough for me to confidently say, modesty aside, that I'm definitely qualified for the job I'm aspiring for.
“It definitely helped transform my business and take a significant load off for me.”
