I worked as an ICU nurse for almost three years and that alone developed a lot of skills from me. I was a fresh graduate when I was accepted to work at a tertiary hospital and then and then, they trusted me to be a Staff in the ICU after I passed 2 weeks of training and that slot was supposed to be reserved for senior nurses who want promotions, but nobody took the risk and I accepted it. For me, being a risk taker is one of my greatest attitude that made me excel in everything I do that's why I became the " Best Unit Employee in ICU" of the year, and I have a lot of my seniors who were my mentors ahead of me. I am proud to be recognized in just two years.
I got used to working strict guidelines because we were dealing with lives there and skills should be learned fast because you'll never know when you'll need it, and in the medical field, like other professions, you just can't go wrong, you have to do it right, the first time. Quick and sound decision making is very essential for you to be able to do more things and accomplish them on time. I also mastered the art of multitasking and prioritizing. Attitude is also one of my best asset since you have to manage stress well and still be welcoming to the patient's relatives while still be comforting to your patients even if 100 tasks are still on your head. I was given many assignments on making reports, minutes of meetings, conceptualizing new policies and translating it to English and Inventories of stocks. The trust they gave me was may be because of the dedication i put into every work they give me.
My friends and family also witnessed my talents in writing, they ask me to write letters of all sorts and having high scores in IELTS also is an advantage for me, I had 9 in Listening, 8 in writing, 7.5 in reading, and 7 in speaking.
I also love innovations and apply it to my work, in my assignments, I always believe that there is always an easy and fun ways of doing things.
