I am a nurse who enjoys reading, writing, and blogging. I know how to use MS Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Publisher) pretty well because I have been using them ever since. I also have a background on Adobe Pagemaker. Although I am not a native English speaker and not a hundred percent expert on the language, it is our second language here in the Philippines, and we also use it as our medium of instruction from nursery to college and even until graduate school. I had been a member of the school paper since elementary to high school, and although I became busier in college because of my course, I was a regular contributor for our school and college's official student publication.
Shortly after graduation, I received training on copy editing for almost four months, which was sponsored by Springer and Wiley-Blackwell Publishing. I had also been an editor for a Kpop (Korean pop) site where we inform Kpop enthusiasts all over the world about the latest headlines and news on Korean entertainment and music from February to August 2011. This is voluntary, and we (the staff) have not been paid for what we have contributed to the site. I joined the site last February 2011 as a regular contributor or blogger and got promoted as an editor last June 2011. I have also been blogging since 2007. It's something that I do once in a while whenever I get some time off. During my spare time, I update my personal blogs by writing about stuff that I want to write about. Since October 2011, I started to teach ESL to Japanese students online for a couple of hours at night, and it has been a wonderful experience so far. Last March 2013, I took the IELTS test and got an overall band score of 7.0.
Lastly, I am confident of the education and training that I acquired from Silliman University, particularly from the College of Nursing, and I am willing to work for any employer who believes that I have the skills and the capability to work for them. I am willing to be trained if necessary, and I can work without much supervision. I will also try my best to submit and complete what is expected of me on or before the deadline. I hope to find a long-term part-time job here and build a good working relationship with my future employer.
