i am actually an architect/interior designer by profession but i love to cook. unfortunately, i belong to the "old school" when computer was not yet available that is why i never got to learn autocadd. i am still doing my design works manually. that is why at my age of 55 years old, i find it difficult to find an architectural job since most companies require knowledge of autocadd although modesty aside, i am a very good designer. in view of this, i went into my first restaurant business in 2000 in roces ave., then in katipunan ave. until 2003 when somebody invited me to partner up with him in makati. he was going to finance the venture and i will be an industrial partner with a guaranteed salary plus dividends. unfortunately, my partner cheated me that's why in july 2005, i filed a breach of contract suit against my former partner. i was deprived of my only livelihood. i had already won the case in the rtc and it is now pending before the court of appeals. after i filed the case, i went home to my hometown in general santos city to keep my family afloat. however, in view of the limited opportunities there, i had to come back to manila to discover new options, on top of my wish to be with my family. i have a hard time finding a job because of my age. fortunately, i discovered online job opportunities through the newspaper column of mrs. ramos, chairperson and founder of national bookstore. i wish to offer my design skills. if not, i can also teach english and do some editing of books and magazines. i don't know how i can work on cooking-related online jobs but i am also a decent cook. mediterranean and middle eastern cuisine are my specialties.
