Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

I use SketchUp as a 3D modeling reference tool to support design visualization and project coordination. I create and review basic 3D models to better understand spatial layouts, structural elements, and architectural components, which helps improve quantity take-offs and cost estimation accuracy. SketchUp assists me in visualizing project details beyond 2D drawings, ensuring more reliable scope interpretation during the estimating and proposal stages.

With more than 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, I have independently managed full-scope estimating for residential and commercial projects, including BOQ preparation and project accomplishment evaluation for CSA and MEPFS works. I worked as a one-man estimating team, independently handling all aspects of cost estimation and directly reporting to the company owner. This experience strengthened my analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage full-scope estimating responsibilities with minimal supervision.

I have been using Microsoft Excel throughout my 10+ years as a Quantity Surveyor as my primary tool for cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and project monitoring. I am proficient in creating detailed cost breakdowns, quantity take-offs, progress tracking sheets, and automated computation templates. I regularly use formulas, logical functions, data validation, conditional formatting, and lookup functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency in my reports.

I utilize AutoCAD to review architectural and engineering drawings for quantity take-offs and scope verification. I am skilled in reading plans, checking dimensions, and extracting technical information to ensure accurate BOQ preparation and cost analysis. While my drafting skills are at a basic level, I can execute minor revisions and follow instructions for plan adjustments when required. My focus is on using AutoCAD as an effective estimating support tool.

Proficient in PlanSwift for digital take-offs, including area, linear, and quantity measurements to support accurate BOQ preparation and cost estimation. While my main use is focused on measurement and take-offs, I continuously explore additional features to improve efficiency and workflow
