I have over 6 years of hands-on experience in HTS classification, freight documentation, and trade compliance, supporting international shipments across the USA, Canada, EU, UK, Mexico, and other regions. I’ve worked closely with sourcing teams, suppliers, and customs brokers to make sure every shipment is accurate, compliant, and cost-efficient.

In my current role, I manage the full freight documentation process. I coordinate directly with suppliers to collect commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading, and carefully review each document to ensure all details match the quantities, CBM, pricing, and product information. Once everything is verified, I compile and organize all required documents and coordinate with customs brokers to ensure smooth and timely clearance.

As an HTS Codes Specialist, I classify a wide range of products and determine the most appropriate tariff codes based on regulations and product composition. I have solid experience working with Section 301 tariffs, including recent updates, as well as handling classifications involving derivatives of aluminum and steel. I also stay current with trade regulations such as Section 122 and the USMCA Trade Agreement to ensure accurate duty application, preferential treatment eligibility, and full compliance with international trade rules.

I also have experience reviewing CBP Entry Summary (Form 7501) to ensure that all declared information including HTS codes, duty rates, and shipment details are accurate and consistent with the submitted documentation, helping prevent discrepancies and potential compliance issues.

One of the key contributions I bring is cost savings. Through proper classification and careful review, I’ve helped identify HTS codes with the lowest applicable duty rates, helping the company reduce unnecessary costs while staying fully compliant.

I also create detailed product spec sheets, making sure all technical and commercial details are clearly documented for internal use and supplier alignment.

Before this, I worked as an HTS Data Analyst and was promoted to Quality Analyst and Subject Matter Expert (SME). In these roles, I supported team performance, improved accuracy, and helped maintain high-quality standards across operations.
