During my university years, I applied as a working scholar and was assigned to the university’s Payroll Department. My responsibilities included processing employee timesheets and verifying attendance data through the HR department; entering hours worked and basic employee information into the university’s payroll system; assisting in the preparation and processing of payroll; updating and maintaining employee payroll records; preparing payroll-related reports and summaries; responding to employee payroll inquiries; assisting in the computation of basic salary, net pay, overtime pay, bonuses, and 13th month pay; and distributing payslips while maintaining strict confidentiality.

My first job was as a Revenue Auditor in the hotel industry. My work mainly included the examination and verification of daily sales revenue, ensuring that all revenues and expenses had accurate supporting documents. I also checked inventories such as hotel complimentary items, conducted room spot checks, identified discrepancies and reported them for correction, compiled and prepared daily revenue summaries for management, and ensured compliance with hotel policies and internal controls.
