Profile Description

My writing skills has been established since I was fourteen years old when I became the copy editor and copy writer of our student body publication. When I was in my secondary years, I became the Editor-in-Chief. I have won in several broadcast and journalism contests not only in our university;I have also made my way in the regional journalism stints.
Even though I was a published student writer, the idea of leveling up my writing knack to a professional level is intimidating. In fact, I can only dream of Magsaysay Award and Pulitzer Prize for literature. Becoming a professional writer is way too grand for my skills and way too different from my previous career. It scares my wits and at the same time it excites my nerves.
What will I write? What if I run out of interesting topics? What if my readers and critics found my article lacking in substance? The more those questions come up, the more restless I get to challenge my means and polish my talent. Besides, why do I worry so much of working as a Registered Nurse? Maybe, it was not meant for me in the first place, and I have to embrace the opportunity that has knocked so many times at my door. If I get lucky and earn your trust as a feature, sports, news writer, then, my choice of running my ink again is right.
Before I became a writer, I was a book-hater. For me, those paper bounds were a punishment. Instead of playing with my friends, I get to sit at the corner and hold a pitiful book until it fades out of my sight. I was not impressed especially with very dull black-colored fonts that span from cover to cover. But it was the cunning way my air force lieutenant of a grandfather presented his old and neatly covered Reader’s Digest that my love and passion for reading developed. He put “jelly ace” on top of the magazine every time he invites me to read along with him. At first, it was just the sweet flavored gelatin or the crazy way he brings to life the story from that lifeless book. I soon realized that those paper bounds hid colored pages, fancy images and enchanted kingdoms that hooked my attention every afternoon of summer. For a five year old, it was pure magic, and it was one of the reasons of my simple joys.
Since then, with or without jelly ace, the books became my best friends. Through them, I learned a lot of things and I continually grow as a person, in deeds and thoughts. Those leisure readings gave me an insight on how to express myself freely and creatively in written word. To share my ideas to the world in writing is always a happy experience. My brave heart, hard work and honest dedication helped me have a page in the student publication paper of my Alma Mater. And hopefully, these same qualities that are at the soul of all my articles will continue to help me get a spot in the cutting edge of life.
It’s been more than six months that I’ve led a quiet, unheralded life. I want to make my God-given talent useful and productive. I don’t want to stay stagnant in one place or stay inactive in one career. I don’t want to wait in vain for a miracle to happen until all the beautiful opportunities that come along will all be taken. I am ready to face the adult world. I am so excited to share what I am capable of giving through my articles and make peoples’ lives happier. It’s overwhelming to think the endless possibilities of connecting with these people, celebrating their success and crying with their failures, all which has the power to turn lives around.
I want to pursue what I love doing the most_ writing. May it be creative or technical, fiction or real, as long as I made an impact to my readers, nothing else will matter.
Give me a chance to execute my passion in life and I’ll give you back excellent results. To God be the glory!
