Profile Description

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English from a renowned university here in the Philippines, Ateneo de Davao University.
I am used to being asked to write about certain pieces of literature such as poetry and short stories by famous writers such as Anton Chekhov and Chinua Achebe using different technical linguistic theories such as Jacques Derrida's Deconstruction and Ferdinand Saussure's Structuralism.
In my course, I have also been asked to reflect about many movies such as Les Miserables and Shakespeare in Love using again technical linguistic theories.
Although it sounds as though all I have been asked to do is to apply the "rocket science" component of the English language to write-ups and movies that could have been simply enjoyed, I do know how to simply write about something just because it is interesting.
I love to write - it's one of the few things I that I am really good at (especially when I'm pressured by deadline for submissions).
So whether you ask me to take out the big guns of linguistic theories or simply to write about ordinary topics, I am more than willing and able to comply.
