First
of all, I acquired my education from the premier educational institution of my country, the University of the Philippines. where my inherent talents have been harnessed
and honed and
where I acquired a lot of invaluable skills
As a prerequisite of my chosen career,
I underwent an on-the-job training at an American food chain franchise called Winchell's Donuts, and became an apprentice at a five-star
hotel in Manila. I then worked at the Department of Trade and Industry as a Trade and Industry Development Specialist and was promoted to a senior position as Regional Consumer Arbitration Officer .
My scope of work included the following, to wit: 1.) processing, adjudicating and promulgating awards/decisions on consumer complaints 2.) conducting lectures and enforcing Fair Trade Laws to all sectors (i.e.
business, manufacturers, educational institutions, etc.) 3.) organizing and maintaining multi-agency task force of trade laws to combat deceptive/fraudulent sales acts and practices 4.) coordinating and maintaining multi-sectoral and inter-agency committees which ensure price and supply stabilization of basic/prime commodities
5.) organizing and maintaining Consumer Welfare Desks which are alternative avenues for speedy consumer complaints resolution 6.) processing and analyzing statistical data (prices) 7.) conducting price monitoring of commodities and
8.) preparing project proposals and concept papers relative to trade and industry issues.
My stint at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have indeed helped me acquire and develop a selfless dedication to my job, commitment to excellence and quality workmanship, leadership skills,
professionalism and love and loyalty to the people for whom I was mandated to serve- my countrymen.
My skills include an excellent command of the English language, above average conflict negotiation skills (consumer-based), very satisfactory public speaking and writing skills, expertise on consumer-related and developmental issues, preparation of project proposals/concept papers and knowledge on computer operations (Word, Powerpoint, Excel).
In addition, I also possess a sizable cache of knowledge on fine jewelry (appraisal and design) as this is my family's line of business.
These and my almost seventeen years of experience at the DTI have definitely molded me to be an employee possessing the ideal skills, professionalism and character any employer may be searching for in a worker. Thus, in a nut shell, these are the 101 reasons why I should be hired.
