Profile Description

Training is my natural preoccupation. As an experienced cultural worker, theater director, and acting coach, it is never hard for me to teach, supervise, and facilitate learning for different kinds of people. And I have consistently demonstrated these skills and more in my current role as a call center trainer. Through the years, I made progress in this field as it developed me to become versatile, knowledgeable, and patient with learners.
As a language and product trainer I've mastered the philosophy of teaching learners "how to fish." That is, my role as a facilitator should be viewed not as a teacher of a student who doesn't know anything, but as a mentor that shall guide a learner to learn things by himself. I also got a chance to learn how to create and develop modules that are based from some instructional design principles. I'm also proficient in MS Office applications and I make full use of social networking sites to assist me in teaching.
Besides being a trainer from a respectable call center, most of my free time is usually spent on reading and writing blogs and feature articles for newsletters and some local magazines. Whilst, what started out as a hobby became my passion, as I now possess some journalistic tendencies as evidenced by an impulse to record, describe, and write about my experiences. I recently started a blog profile in our company's internal social networking site, where I record my class' accomplishments for the day and other company stuff. I'm hoping to have my own blog site in the near future.
As regards my qualifications in editing and writing, I'm a mass communications major from the University of the Philippines and I've worked before as a freelance editor that assists Chinese and others who are challenged in English improve their thesis, dissertations, etc.
I strongly believe that telecommuting, blog-writing, and all kinds of social networking are trends of the future, and that's why I want to get my hands on them.
