I have almost twenty years' worth of experience in the creative field.
After initially pursuing a finance/banking track, I shifted to advertising/marketing in the early 1990's.
Since then, I have acquired experience in the fields of advertising and corporate communications/public relations.
As a manager, my last corporate stint was as the Assistant Head for Corporate Planning and Media Services of Real Bank, a thrift bank.
As a Public Relations Associate of Avellana and Associates (then one of the top local advertising agencies in the Philippines), a Marketing Officer of Consumer Savings Bank and Infotech Professional Services, Inc., I conceptualized (and implemented) various corporate communications and public relations programs.
As a writer and editor, I have more than twenty years' experience in writing all kinds of material, ranging from reports and feasibility studies, articles, blogs, to company newsletters, audio-visual scripts, screenplays for TV shows and books.
Since 2008, I have been working freelance for two publishing houses, Precious Pages Corporation (the Philippines' top publishing house for romance novels) and its sister company, Lampara Publishing (which publishes children's books).
As a freelance writer/editor/translator for Precious Pages Corporation, I edit the English portions of manuscripts prior to publication and translate popular English novels from English to Filipino.
To date, I have translated two Harlequin novels, two novels by Barbara Cartland, and I have two more translations that I am currently finishing.
As a freelance writer/editor for Lampara Publishing, I have condensed a number of English novels/classics for children, some of which were nominated by the publishing house to the National Book Awards.
I also edited the Filipino translation of J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone".
I also do freelance marketing/PR consultancy work for select friends.
My last consultancy work was with Precious Pages Corporation and Lampara Publishing, where I reviewed their existing company website and gave them suggestions on how to improve it, and also gave them a PR/communications plan to improve their relationship with their regular readers.
I have some experience in blogging/Wordpress.
I have a personal blog, http://www.quiettimeramblings.blogspot.com, that I am currently revising into a bigger, more comprehensive website (one which is both personal and professional).
I am also creating a website with an old classmate from elementary, which aims to provide services for indie artists.
My skills include analysis/strategy, writing, PR/corporate communications.
I am proficient with MS applications.
As a worker, I am meticulous, persevering, creative, practical.
I would like to be involved in projects that are fulfilling and challenging, as well as materially satisfying.
