He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Development Communication major in Community Broadcasting from the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB), Laguna, Philippines.
In college, he also spent 10 months as an apprentice writer and communications intern for the Office of Public Relations of the Office of the Chancellor of UPLB. He wrote in-depth and popular feature articles that were published in "Horizon," the official community magazine of UPLB, and in other University publications.
He is also very passionate about research. His unpublished undergraduate thesis had been accepted for oral presentation at the 23th International Conference of the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) in Bangkok, Thailand. For his efforts, he received a grade of 1.0 for his undergraduate thesis.
In high school, he was an active student-researcher also. His research won first place for three consecutive school years during the city-wide science fair. He was recognized with the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Science and Technology during his high school graduation for his research efforts.
He was also recognized as the Best in English in his batch.
He was also the
Editor-in-Chief of "Mandaluyong Journal," the official organ of Mandaluyong High School, during his senior year.
He is a member of the UP Community Broadcasters' Society and the UP Jammers' Club.
