I check manuscripts for issues on grammar, spelling, syntax, capitalization, and punctuation, following the guidelines of the Chicago Manual of Style. I also review the work of junior editors and train newly hired editors. I've been in this job for five years, and it has exposed me to all kinds of writing styles.
I know how to use the following Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. I am detail-oriented, resourceful, and quite a stickler to rules (although my work has taught me to be flexible when the context calls for it). I am used to working on deadlines.
