I have a degree in Computer Science, and I have worked as a college instructor for 15 years teaching IT subjects such as Database Management Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, and Human-Computer Interaction.
I am also familiar with the software development process and documentation, and I have assisted as adviser for several undergraduate thesis projects, ranging from customized information systems, to interactive learning modules, and mobile applications.
In 2006, I was given the opportunity to participate in the iSchools Project as a trainor on basic computer skills using Open Source software (Edubuntu). Through this project, I was able to attend trainings on computer and Internet literacy course using OpenOffice.org suite, web development using Joomla, and online writing. It was also through this project that I started to write formal reports and documentation.
in 2009, I was also given the chance to do creative writing when I joined a team that designed, and developed animated learning modules base on
textbooks used by the Bureau of Alternative Learning System of the Department of Education. My main task was to convert the textbook content into a storyboard with a matching script for an interactive learning module using Flash.
Although I have a solid IT background, I believe that my strength is in my writing. I am comfortable with both formal and creative writing, and I can write in either American or British English. I am always open to learning opportunities, and am willing to submit myself to any training courses should the job require it. Furthermore, I can work from home with my own computer, and my own Internet.
I am looking for a stable job where I can contribute most with my skills, and still have plenty of room for growth, and improvement.
