I graduated back in 1983 at Assumption College with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Marketing.
But I was actually exposed into the business world even before I entered college.
I worked for our family business, a printing press, until I graduated. I did accounting work (bank transactions, customer accounts, salary computations,
account follow-ups), I do errands for legal matters (Bureau of Internal Revenue requirements), handled personnel management, and quality control before the orders are machine printed.
Through the years, I was working in operations, finance and quality control.
As a
working student,
I learned to value the time and how to manage it while studying at the same time.
I became very aware of being organized thereby finishing my work on the prescribed deadline.
After graduation,
I worked outside of the family business, to enrich more knowledge and be exposed to the real world.
I worked as the manager of a fitness studio for a year.
As operations manager, I see to it that the business is doing well by attending to the clients needs and making sure the workforce do their work well.
It is a one man job though,
As I also do their accounting system and sales.
After my stint in the fitness studio,
I moved to a bigger company by being the executive assistant to the president of a manufacturer of corrugated boxes.
Doing paperworks, adjusting my senior's schedule,
attending meetings,
taking calls, and other jobs, he assigns to me.
I also had the chance to work in australia as operations manager of a cleaning service.
And this introduced me to work in a different country with a different culture.
My work includes, closing contracts, dispatching workers, inspection of vicinity and accounting where I became proficient in MS Office.
As of late,
I work freelance.
Real estate and insurance.
Both are into sales.
I work hard not just to please my employer.
But because I see it as an achievement on my part which I pushes me to be stronger and inspires me to do more.
“I can find little blocks of time to focus so we can scale this business.”
