Profile Description

A highly qualified licensed/registered civil engineer from the Philippines. I graduated from the prestigious Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology. I passed the engineering board exam with high grades without taking any formal review courses.
I have been hired as an engineer in Ulticon Builders, a construction company categorized by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board as a Triple A or “AAA” contractor and prides itself as an ISO accredited company with OHSAS 18001 : 2007, ISO 9001 : 2008, ISO 14001 : 2004. It is also the company where I enroll my internship, a month after I graduated; they hire me as one of their office engineer.
Within this company, I experienced various jobs such as cost estimator and liaison officer. Wherein we prepare documents needed for an official bidding process. These includes precise estimate of materials and labour cost given a specific type of project. In this job I learn how to use pre-programmed excel sheets for faster computations. I also acquired the skills of using current estimating software from Google or Trimble products to have an accelerated result. Later, with the help of veteran engineers I am able to make myself a program of work and PERT-CPM.
Later on my work, I am given a chance to be a project engineer on a multi-million road opening project. On this particular assignment, I developed skills on project management and quality assurance, as every day, I have to visit the site and ensure that the quality of workmanship is sustained according to standards and specifications. On the other hand, this also means a proper handling and negotiations on my workforce. Weekly accomplishment report is also a necessary. In times when my CAD operator is absent, I took the update of as built plan as a requirement for my accomplishment report.
Due to some uncontrolled circumstances, I am forced to engage myself in freelancing job.
Here are the list of jobs and experiences I had in freelancing.
BIM-Building Information Modeling
It is the use of current software both to generate 3D and 2D plans of a specific building or structure. I attended many webinars before gaining exemplary skills. But the effort was rewarded as I now have better knowledge in understanding the theories of engineering.
CAD- Computer Aided Design
Although I am good in CAD using Autodesk products in my college days, freelancing help me to upgrade my knowledge in CAD as competition was tougher on this field as there are more experienced CAD user even before I existed. Later I am able to catch up with the CAD literacy needed to compete with other freelancers.
