Profile Description

I'm an English language teacher for almost 22 years, more than 16 years at a public secondary school in the Philippines and 5 years EFL teacher in Kazakhstan. During the time I was in the public school, my work and responsibilities, aside from being a classroom teacher, include library works, class adviser and counselor, school organ critique and adviser, and English Department chairperson and coordinator. Being a teacher in public school in the Philippines is a jack-of-all-trades. I did cataloging and inventory of school supplies, editing and proofreading articles for school publication, trainer/tutor/coach, managing and keeping school records, analysing and interpreting test results, designing curriculum, spearheading seminars and meetings, and a mother and friend to my students. I am, nevertheless, lucky and grateful because this experience made me a seasoned person.
In addition, to conform my work to the academic world I acquired skills such as: familiarity of operating systems (Windows Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher) search engines and social media sites, keyboarding skills, ability to type 35 words per minute, strong English communication skills, and attentive to details.
