To be very up front about things, this is the first time that I'm going to try making a career out of an online job - yes, a career. I recently resigned from my post as data manager from Thomson Reuters (and yes, that's the company 2nd to Bloomberg).
My role as data manager ranges from data entry, to quality checks, to handling escalated client queries, to conducting training sessions, to doing performance evaluations -- which means write ups depending on how many direct reports I have at any given time, to research, to creating excel summaries and macros - anything that needed to be done that has to do with data.
It's not the lack of an opportunity to work for some other company that's preventing me from continuing my "structured" employment, but I am more attracted to the flexibility that an online career can offer.
For me, it's looking more and more like the best of both worlds - you still have the interaction you get with working with people, but without the hassle of commuting - which actually, to me, is a waste of what-could-have been productive hours.
So there.
I hope I've given justice the myriad tasks I have experience in, in the short summary I've provided above.
By the way, I have been in the workforce for 13 years, 3 months, I believe that is considered sound experience.
