Profile Description

The Forester/ Environmental Management Specialist is in charge of all programs and projects concerned with forest and protected areas, rivers and waterways, national parks, quarrying and tree nurseries. S/he supervises and monitors the technical personnel as well as field personnel under her/his section.
S/he implements the provisions of Environment Code articles on Land-use, Forest Resources, Biodiversity Protection and Biosafety, Mineral Resources, Coastal and Water Resources, Marine and Freshwater Resources, Ecotourism and Energy Resources.
Specifically, s/he:
a) Develop plans, programs and projects on Forest Resources, Watershed Management, Freshwater, Marine and Coastal Resources, Mineral Resources, Ecotourism and Energy Resources;
b) Implement protection, rehabilitation, and development plans and programs on all sectors covered above;
c) Provide training and other skill development activities consistent with the City’s Forest and Natural Resources Management Programs;
d) Identify, formulate, and implement research studies related to resource and watershed development and management; and
e) Verification and adjudication of conflicts related to extraction and utilization of all resources and pollution of the same.
