I really understood the power of persuasion when I started working in multinational advertising agencies beginning with Leo Burnett. The thinking discipline was given so much emphasis since I was assigned to Procter and Gamble which also have its own system of thinking. The experience brought me further to a new level in Ogilvy and Mather where I was given opportunities to attend seminars abroad. These seminars had sterling personalities with the likes of the late David Ogilvy and many other great creative directors. A variety of accounts such as Kraft Gen Foods,Pepsi Co.,Unilever made my stay in the ad agency exceptional...working with the greats in both the client side and production suppliers somehow trickled some of their passion in me. My husband who is an art director and I put up a home based graphic agency, our clients were overwhelming : Unilab, Whirlpool appliance,The French Baker, Dole Phils.,..but the business did not last when the multinational ad agencies demanded to also handle their below the line accounts.
One of my real estate clients persuaded me to work for her as their VP for sales and marketing since she wanted someone who can think out of the box. I had a successful stint with her for 5 years launching leisure farms, resorts and luxury residences. My career has come full circle in terms of being knowledgeable on how to sell ideas.
