After graduation, I worked as Copy Editor for SPI Technologies where I learned the basics of copy editing such as consistency in style and correcting grammar, syntax and spelling errors. I have also learned how to read DTDs and xmls. I worked for 4 years with SPI Technologies, after which I ventured to my true profession as a chemical engineer.
As a licensed chemical engineer, I have worked as an Engineering Management Trainee for JG Summit Petrochemical Corporation for 1.5 years (August 2007-February 2009); however, the calling to teach has made me to try my teaching skills for Batangas State University, where I was employed as Instructor I from June 2009 to March 2010.
However, the passion for copy editing made me leave my work as instructor to work as a full-time copy editor for Best-Set Editorial Services. Then after I left Best-Set Editorial Services, I became a freelance editor for InWrite. I am currently a quality management consultant and lead auditor.
Experience: 10+ years
I have been a copy editor since 2003. I started copyediting articles from scientific journals such as Elsevier Science, Blackwell, etc. I am very knowledgeable in different editing styles such as AP Manual Style, Chicago, etc. I have also copy-edited fiction books.
