Despite my background, I ended up doing all sort of things and did all kind of jobs e.g., Blogging,Coffee Barista, Stylist, Technical Writer, etc. whilst being a full time artist and photographer before, and was actively exhibiting my works abroad. But I was forced to receive all kinds of works I've mentioned (as I am perfectly aware of the fact that how fickle the art world can be)in order for me to sustain my cost of living. I worked for an independent Arts and Culture magazine in Japan, but was working (remotely)under special arrangements.
Also, I was able to work (remotely-based virtual assistant/staff)for an international website (http://www.lomography.com) that specifically hosts a very diverse and creative community members wherein I gained a lot of experience in regards of website content development, community handling and almost everything there is need to be done on maintaining an international website – i was a photo editor and writer for their online magazine, copywriting for their newsletters and administering their online shop/ marketing spiels on targeting specific website traffic goals and sales, down to PR management and brand imaging through the social media platforms available, I can say that I acquired a lot of knowledge and skills way beyond what I expected for. I was then absorbed afterwards as a regular staff for their physical back office in Manila after working virtually with them for 3 years.
After leaving their good company in late 2012 (after five years), I went back on doing freelance jobs - mainly collaborating with various independent publications and creative brands and start-ups (that mainly deals with contemporary art) for almost a year.
My experiences so far has taught me a lot about life and the many aspects of it. And has literally broadened my horizon - something I can never learn inside a room of a conventional school. Not only it made me wiser, but made me aware of my abilities and realising my potential can take me further and do things I thought were impossible to achieve.
Currently I'm a creative director for Pardon Garcon (http://pardon-garcon.tumblr.com), a brand/creative firm which I started this June just this year 2014 which specialises in handpainted T-shirts made with organic fabric dye.
