Current Employment Status:
Hired Full Time on Jan 12, 2016
I'm Maeyahn Aguilar and I would like to apply for the position. I have
been working freelance and homebased since 2006. I have the discipline
of getting the job done I can meet the requirements set by clients.
My first job was as a Customer Service Representative for Convergys.
My account was Sprint. I handled calls from irate customers.
Then I ventured into writing. I wrote for a magazine and still used my
Public Relations skills. I communicated with stylists, photographers,
make up artists and business owners. I spearheaded events. I conducted
interviews and personally transcribed the recordings. I type really
fast.
I was also the Team Leader of the Writer Team in my last position. I
delegated the writing tasks to a pool of writers and edited their
work. I conducted training and gave them writing exercises in order
for them to become better writers. Again, I used my Public Relation
skills in this position.
I know that most of my experience is writing but I have experience in
Public Relations. I have excellent people-skills.
I can also sell. When I was at the call center, we were required to
upsell - which I did. When I was working for the magazine, I had to
"sell" the articles I wrote.
This was also the case with the SEO articles I wrote in my other
writing positions. I had to "sell" products.
My experience as a Magazine Editor and a Team Leader improved my
Project Management skills. Since I have been writing (and teaching on
the side) since 2005, I have efficient writing and verbal
communication skills. I can also multi task. I have my own laptop. I
can also manage my time.
My Social Media background includes creating videos via Animoto and
uploading these to YouTube, composing blurbs in Linkvana, Traffic
Geyser, Google listings, submitting information to online directories
and managing Facebook and Twitter accounts.
I majored in European Studies - International Relations and and
studied languages. I know how to speak French, Spanish and Filipino.
“It definitely helped transform my business and take a significant load off for me.”
