I have been a customer service representative for 6 years. Over the years, i have developed my skills in client relations and different computer systems.
As a patient advocate, i also developed very good communication and listening skills which for me is the most impotant skills a customer service representative should possess. Being calm, honest, confident and patient are also important. Being an expert with the product also helped me with problem solving, which is the key in client relations.
In my 6 years, i've handled different accounts that are mostly related to medical services.Checking eligibility, coverage for prescriptions and member's out of pocket expenses
in
my first account. I took calls assisting both member's and health care providers.
My second account is similar to my first account
because it's also about prescriptions, but i only took calls for member's. In this account, we assist customers in placing orders and payments , check shipment status, creating profiles for their online account and explaining the benefits of doing online and bulk orders. We also help them with their accounting inquiries. Like checking where a balance/credit came from or if we already received their check payments. we also do account receivables and adding credit cards. I took care of the form requests for members.
My third account, where i am currently at right now, is medical insurance and i'm lucky to be a part of several teams. We assist health care providers in checking eligibility, medical benefits and claims which is very challenging because it will test your patience, product knowledge, math skills and analytical thinking. Im part of the Secure Messaging team where we basicly do the same thing when but in the form of writing. In this task,we are required to be accurate. Another team i was able to join is the Inventory Team and i can say that i have learned a lot. We key in claims, check if information is valid, check reissue request, check status, check review status of claims and give provider's callback once review is finalized, send correspondence, transfer information in excel files and a lot more.
I know there are a lot of things i have yet to learn but i'm willing to learn.
