I've been employed at a Sales and Marketing Firm for the past 4+ years now. Started off as an entry level Telemarketer that I would say polished my skills in Oral and Written Communication, part of the job responsibilities was representing the client company in a professional manner and a the same time nurturing a database for the client, producing results such as a lead, appointment or a follow up in way building brand recognition and directly affecting sales, thus resulting in ROI.
After a year of being in the Client services of the company, I was taken in by our Sales Department thus becoming an Inside Sales Executive, no longer representing clients but the company itself. The new role allowed me to further polish my skills in interacting with C-Level executives, Managers and Key contacts through Conference meetings, Webinars or Webex prepared before hand for different companies in the North America Market. Also I picked up a few skills along the way in Email Marketing. Social Media. I would say the experience in establishing branding, identifying potentials risks or pre existing problems in which our service provides a solutions for them and at the same educating them on our services was the best situation from which I learned the most. List quality and Lead nurturing would be the best skills I learned from this experience.
An estimated time of 24 months from which I was absorbed by our Sales Department, I was promoted to a Supervisor / Team Leader for one of the teams in our Department. This job opportunity led me to handle 15 people directly and a total of 50 people indirectly, plus coordinating with the different Department Managers when the need would arise, this role would lead me to work with our Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, HR Manager, IT and Customer Service Manager in further enhancing the customer service experience and proper channeling for new clients of the company. Effectively managing calendars of multiple persons at the time coordinating with the staff for a fast and easy transition in the meetings which presentations and a walk through of online web tools are being discussed.
Main responsibilities at the time was training and further development of the existing and new Sales Executives of the team. Observing, identifying strengths, weaknesses and rating them in different fields related to their job functions were a must. Sales Quotas, Leads and Ratios was in constant consideration together with weekly reports in Windows and Linux based applications.
After a year in this role, my job responsibilities have expanded, we have created on an online research team solely based for Social Media and Email marketing purposes, so far I have trained and settled 15 new people for this purpose at the time that I am writing this and will continue to manage this role.
I've learned over time to handle the differences of people and having them realize this also would lead to a more pleasant environment with in the team and the department. Showing people versus telling the team the amount of dedication, work ethic and skills in order to be successful was another thing. In time I still learn something new from my team and the people I interact with everyday. I believe in the state of mind of being a student of life. "To forever be learning till the last day".
I would presume from reading this summary of past experience, one can see or can identify skills that are directly involved.
