I am applying for virtual assistant position. I think this is the right time for me to share what I have earned in this BPO industry. I have been working for an Australian airline account for 2 years and 7 months and I got several experience and exposures.
The first and very significant exposure happened when I was recommended to be a training associate. This position widened my horizons, especially the knowledge about the new booking system tool, Sabre. I got techniques on how I can disseminate information to my learners. After this wonderful experience, I was assigned to be Sabre Support. I assisted the agents on their queries, especially if they got an error on their end. Then, I was trained for Queues.I worked for Queues Team for 2 months. After this task, I was assigned as one of the Loyalty Program Specialist. This assignment provided much exposure when dealing with the loyalty members, part of this experience is redemption booking for domestic and partner airlines using their points. I did this task for 1 month, then I was chosen to be trained for our Trade and Industry line of business.
It is such a great opportunity to deal with travel agents and to gauge on their efficiency and accuracy. After 6 months, I went back to Queues team. In this line of business, I was assigned to work on bookings made by the travel agents, one of my tasks is to ensure that they are making, changing, cancelling a reservation in a right process. If I found out that they need to correct or reissue a ticket in a specific reservation, I am sending a teletype message. I was also assigned to work on our email queue like sending request for travel insurance, request for a limousine transfer, request for car hire price matching, general inquiries and other email support inquiries.
These experience provide me the opportunity to meet different types of people and develop my strong interpersonal skills. I am aware that the duties and responsibilities of a virtual assistant is not too easy. However, I know that this would not be hard for me because I am very positive that I could perform the job well.
Hope this information can help you a lot.
