I am Content and Production Manager for a publishing company. My main responsibility is to create and manage our production calendar (from planning stage to book release). We have a stable of writers so we are able to release about 3 to 4 books a month. My main job is to oversee at what stage all our books in production are at, whether they are proceeding according to schedule, and adjust our releases if some things don't go as planned (writer gets sick, editing takes longer than usual, etc.).
Prior to managing operations, I have worked for an Australian-based online editing company as a General VA for three years. My tasks included:
processing editing submissions;
liaising between editors and clients; updating our process manual;
conducting interviews for short-listed applicants (Customer Service Assistant position);
new-hire training and supervision;
writing articles for our company blog;
internet research for marketing;
formatting documents according to client's university guidelines;
assisting editors with MS Word formatting queries;
other ad hoc tasks.
Before working from home, I was part of the BPO industry for six years. I was consistently part of the top performers as I made sure I did my best in every call.
I take pride in my work, am detail-oriented, and have a go-getter attitude. I value integrity and professionalism the most. I believe skills can be learned through perseverance and practice, but professionalism can never be taught.
