I worked as a Researcher for a hotel price comparison search engine known as Hotelscombined.com for almost 3 years. My tasks basically entailed searching for possible hotel chains or individual hotels to offer them our service (i.e. creating a unique profile for them), linking with other providers such as Booking.com, Agoda.com, HotelClub.com, etc. for SEO purposes, updating and encoding their FAQs, photos, and other necessary information to reflect the current information, updating the hotel’s location on the map using their specific coordinates, or simply put, to provide users/customers a hassle-free hotel searching and comparison.
Second job’s still in a marketing and research field wherein I worked as a Quality Assurance Supervisor for a mystery shopping company. I read, and edit the reports sent by our shoppers, and make sure that everything’s complete and perfect for a client’s view. I was also tasked to make a presentation for the summary of results every time a wave or term would end. Finally, the researching skill here is being used to get more clients who are willing to undergo such quality control or measurement of customer satisfaction through the mystery shopping system. So far, I have dealt with several companies such as hotel groups, restaurants (fine-dining, casual, and fast food), retails such as luxury cars, appliances and gadgets, clothing brands, high-end malls, airline company, cosmetics, insurances and financial services.
I’m a fast learner and that’s one of my skills that I’m really proud of, and because of that I definitely will be able to understand complex and technical processes in business by merely reading, being given time to study and learn. With regards to my internet research capability, I couldn’t see any problem with that because I’ve been using the internet (and was exposed to it) since my 3rd grade of elementary. My previous jobs required the internet to facilitate all tasks. And also, I got most of the things I learned during my school days through the internet. There might be things that I’m not that aware or knowledgeable of in using the internet, but as far as my experience brought me, I could say that I’m more than the intermediate type.
I work really best in a serious and quiet environment. I have a well-developed power of concentration and I work pretty much steadily towards identified goals. I can accomplish any task once I have set my mind to it. I can definitely think outside the box and I could say that I have a wide imagination when it comes to things that really interest me.
