i am currently a public school teacher, teaching english subject in the 3rd year and 4th year level. I have grown to develop my english skills by actually teaching it to my students. During my high school year, i barely appreciated learning about this language considering that it wasn't easy. Most often the english rules in grammar have exceptions. You need to learn it not only from the textbook, but more so in watching english films to learn how it is properly used, and how words are properly pronounced, and what words are better used in specific situation. Well, yes, it is difficult, but learning this language is actually at one's own advantage. You get to read, and understand the text better, and you also get to hone your writing skills fast, and the biggest plus there is, is your ability to speak the language, like the native speakers do, and be able to get the message across correctly. Now, I'm reaping my good harvest. Students who graduated came back and thanked me for inspiring them to love the language, others came back to tell me that they enrolled in education because they like
me. Those words are kept in my treasure box. They complete me as a teacher. I realize that a meaningful teaching career means seeing meaning in your students' lives because of you.
