Profile Description

Even before graduating in Miriam College as an AB Communications minor in Digital media, I had the pleasure to partake and organize various productions, forums, workshops and events as part of the Council of Leaders. I also volunteered in Rock Ed for fun, and had an enormous time helping out backstage.
I also got the chance to study Scriptwriting and Directing on Film and Television in University of California, under the Fusion Arts Scholarship Program of the US Embassy. In USC, I was able to learn a lot of things about filmmaking but most importantly, how to work in an international environment. We attended a lot of seminars, forums, classes, productions and screenings. This experience had cultivated me to work in the industry with passion and love for filmmaking and writing.
As indicated in my attached resume, I have the pleasure to work in Media Com for SM Cinema Cinexpo Digital Filmmaking Seminar as a personal assistant to the events manager. I did a lot of clerical work (creating IDs, registration, designing posters) and was very involved in the campaign process. I went school-to-school and did a lot of pep talk in encouraging youths to participate in our film forum/seminar.
In addition to this experience, I worked in various film festivals. I am one of the coordinators for NCCA Ani ng Sine Film Festival in CCP Manila, Cinemarehiyon Film Festival in Davao, Sining Malayag Arts Festival in Boracay, and May Shooting Uli sa Baguio in Baguio City. Also, I had the opportunity to head coordinate two film events - Indie-pendence Film Screening, that tackled films about freedom and human rights and the international short film festival - Futureshorts.com that promoted local short films and showcased international short films.
My job as a coordinator is to supervise the event, gather the films that will be shown in the film festival, maintain good relationship with our partners, sponsors, VIPS and filmmakers; and do Q/A for the cast and crew of the film after the screening. Part of my job also is to help on the pre-production of the festival by writing synopsis, look for locations, and meet with local organizers and to come up ideas on how to promote the festival on the local area and to national area. We also appeared on national televisions, radio and publications in order to promote our festival. We also wrote reviews and articles for PR and we connect and engage with media personnel to endorse our event. There was also a time in Future Shorts when we showcased local musicians to play in our monthly screenings, and for artists to display their works on our event. With these, we were able to gather connections in music, film and art industry.
Also, I worked as a communication/PR executive for Philip Morris Philippines. My tasks and responsibilities as a communication executive are multi-functional. It involves writing PRs and articles both for internal and external communication, manage our internal videos, website, magazine (online and published) and our president’s blog; design newsletters, logos, website, flyers, posters, animated gifs and banners. I also assist in the preparation of our department’s events and covers it for our internal TV. I also do hosting on corporate parties and engage on client, media, expats and suppliers’ relationship building in order to have a good working environment for our company. Because a lot of things are expected of us, I had to develop the skill of multitasking and flexibility in order to be a fast yet efficient and credible employee.
